TIPHIKNEE De HERRERA
About the Artist
Tiphiknee is a contemporary oil painter, digital, and graphite artist located in Georgia. Her journey to and from art has been quite an interesting one:
Beginning to create art in school at age 14, Tiphiknee's skill grew rapidly; Her love and passion for art was portrayed in every new piece. She quickly latched on to the luscious flow of oil paint, and began to incorporate it into her high school art projects.
As a teenager, Tiphiknee attended many professional workshops with local artists, where she picked up on much of her oil painting skill. She won several art shows in and out of school, and was also President of the school's Art Club in 2009-10.
She attended The Southern Oregon Art Academy from 2010-11, studying sight-size drawing with graphite and charcoal. After making the decision to move from her home in Oregon, to Washington state, Tiphiknee took an extended, 7-year break from creating.
In 2018, the spark ignited again when she cracked open her old art boxes and began to paint again! It took several months of practice, and many encouraging friends for her to begin her own art commission business:
Rare HueMan Artistry.
In 2022, Tiphiknee created an art collective in Augusta, Georgia called AbstrAction Art Group. This group comprised of many local artists utilizes prompts and deadlines to encourage visual artists to take action in creating more original artwork. After a successful gallery show in June 2022, the group expanded to incorporating artists throughout the country.
Tiphiknee's style has been described as erotic, eclectic, and dark. She is currently specializing in portraiture, however, her true love is in the bizarre, surreal, and sensual aspects of her works.
